CHICfb 4 Wowcracy: 'Heavenly Beauty' by Dawid Tomaszewski

Berlin-based Dawid Tomaszewski has been a brilliant presence at the German edition of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week and has presented 'Heavenly Bodies' for the fall.

Dark Soul Dress

It's where the curves of a woman's body meet with 'geometric abstraction'. The rigueur of the color black and the sartorial cuts let femininity prevail over lines and structure. A subtle game of courtship where the woman wearing any of the creations is the winner.

The looks are layered with pieces that have their own independent life: a tunic can be a dress, a pair of silk cropped pants can live without the top and mingle with a simple white cotton blouse you have in the wardrobe. Heavenly Bodies inspires a sense of sophistication that slips into minimalism.

Luxurious materials, comfortable styling are the most prominent ingredients to a poised medley of tailored and fluid pieces. A sensible research was applied and it resulted in a mature presentation worth our attention.

old, vintage and antiquing in Europe

it is a feast of the senses and a party for my self esteem. yes, since I was a young kid in Tuscany, we would spend Sundays afternoons in some of the most famous street antique markets in Italy: Lucca, Camaiore, Siena and you name it.

do we want to talk about Saturday early morning (I mean 4:00am) rummaging through the opening tables at the market in Portobello Road?

impossible to do such a thing in Miami, hence my 16-years-old frustration.

so this summer we went antiquing

by the Navigli

for books

and records

in Madrid at the Sunday market called El Rastro we walked through mint condition pieces of vintage

and flea market espadrilles and fans

so, such a trip back to my youth, when I even realized I am officially to be considered vintage, after I found the bed side lamp from when I was a kid for sale at a flea market.

thoughts over #PFW

first: I live vicariously through my friends who are in paris for fashion week. I eat croissants in the morning, tea and macaroons in the afternoon, all those typical small brasseries at the Marais …

second: Chanel following trends? the collection has all the elements of the fall, it doesn;t stand out.

third: Alexandre McQueen looks more couture than ready to wear: congratulations for the construction, lengths, fur, colors.

Yves Saint Laurent  sharp, tailored chicness. Adieux Stefano.

Hermes so tremendously French countryside it’s not even real!

Givenchy: did anybody say boots? the brown ombre’ ones are fabulously SICK!

Valentino black is back.

Lanvin & Carven: we dedicated the fall 12 board on Pinterest.

whomever I haven’t mentioned wasn’t really worth a WOW

yours truly.
