Fashion month: don't go anywhere before you read this

Minimalism is not an option, the runways have shown boldness, it loud and clear. The consumer is

increasingly global, mobile and trans-seasonal  - BoF

Taking over from New York Fashion Week that seems so long ago, I’ll follow with London, which has always been rich of innovation, eccentricity, individuality, creativity and wit. This spring summer my favorite were Emilia Wickstead and Paul Smith, crowned by the royal highness of Burberry.

Well this year not as much as Milan’s fresh breath of air, new energy, enthusiasm and renewed sense of birth.

Michele’s particular skill is to make the past look like something the future might crave – Tim Blanks

Then there was Jil Sander’s sublime architectural lines and more cloche, or bucket hats.

Oh no, wait, Prada: one word in Miuccia we trust, one of the best collection in seasons. I am afraid I can’t say the same for Miu Miu. I have always been a Miu Miu girl this one seemed a tad too forced.

Giorgio Armani concluded the week with a ceremony in celebrating the first 40 years of the maison.

How about Marras, Andrea Incontri, N.21, Marni and Erika Cavallini?

Paris is always the glitzy-est of all, the City of Lights that never disappoints.

Chanel included bien sur.

Stella McCartney, Christian Dior, Dries van Noten , Rick Owens, Alexander McQueen, Valentino, Rochas, Vivienne Westwood, Lanvin

And, yes, I am a die-hard fan of Yamamoto

And to conclude, i recommend keeping in mind and liking eventually:

yellow or at least adapting hair color and make-up to the new season’s color, bucket hats, vertical lines and geometric games. Just saying. You are welcome.

The cool girls' guide to a shopping afternoon

So I collected some vintage Gucci and

these beauties and went shopping.

Strutting down Bal Harbour, we stopped and entertained some Prada reflections

AWW-ed and OWW-ed at that sexy irresistibile Miu Miu girl

fed the Mrs. Robinson’s in us the Lanvin’s take on animalier

And then Oscar de la Renta: welcome to the quintessence of exquisite elegance.

My sandals match the carpet (a very familiar one)

Oh hi, glorious satin bow peep-toe mules in blush pleased to meet you (you too match the rug)

Black beauties alert spotted on the Dominican coral table.

I don’t know what is more irresistible: the Dior-esque stiletto, the peep-toe, those bows or that Galliano breeze all over them.

And it’s begining to look a lot like Christmas. 'One each color please, on my credit card as usual and the chauffeur will pick them up …'

Then the Alice in me started to jazz around.

'Oscar is a master at pink' my head just whispered, 'The ONLY one who makes pink enviably chic, not corky or  nauseating prom night.'

That’s all.

The horsebit loafer: an affair to remember

It so happen I grew up in Tuscany and when I was in elementary school I remember day-dreaming to dress up as a grown-up with  corduroy pants, a “Flora” Gucci silk shirt, a pair of horsebit loafers (brown suede) and a Roberta di Camerino Bagonghi plush silk velveteen purse.

Truthfully, the only thing that belonged to me were the corduroy pants, the rest was my mother’s.

This is 2013 and the Horsebit Loafer Collection is looking dapper and iconic at 60 years old. Worn by Hollywood’s who’s who in the ’50s, that double ring with bar element pilfered from the world of horseback riding became a symbol. Worn by Jodie Foster in Taxi Driver , Jane Birkin and Alain Delon, the loafer that takes up to two days to be produced has walked through the years reaching

3 decades after playing dress-up, what’s left of those brown suede shoes are the two horsebits and a desire to own the loafers that go attached to them.
